OOC: Continuation of 'Herb Gathering' in the River forum.
Leafpool trotted into camp with her mouth full of water mint plants and clumps of juniper berries. Twisting her beautiful head around, Leafpool could tell that the camp was nearly empty. Paying no attention to her lack of packmates, Leafpool continued on untill she reached her den. At first, it only seemed like a gaping crack in a rock wall. But once you enter and go through the tunnel, you find yourself in a rather large cave. Leafpool entered the crack and padded through the tunnel. Leafpool entered the cave and went straight to the cracks in the cave wall. What are these cracks, you ask? They are the storage chanbers for Leafpool's herbs. Sniffing around, Leafpool located the crack that held her dwindiling supply of water mint and poked the leafy green plants she had collected in the river into the crack with her moist black nose.
Thanking the light filtering through the hole in the roof, Leafpool bent her neck down to the rock floor and gingerly picked up the clumps of juniper berries. "Juniper berries...Good for bellyache and shortness of breath." Leafpool nodded to confirm her speech, and started sniffing again. "Hmmm...Ah! Here it is..." Leafpool mumbled to herself. After putting the juniper berries gently into the crack, Leafpool padded through the tunnel and back out into the main camp and headed for the fresh-kill pile. Picking a newly killed rabbit, Leafpool loped back to her den.
In her den, Leafpool has a springy nest of moss, bracken, and dead grass. And, she always has 2 or 3 spare nests in case of sick wolves. Back in her den, Leafpool walked to the back of her den, where her nest was situated. Flopping down, she shifted, got confortable, and started devouring her rabbit. In a few minutes, nothing was left of it. Letting out a sigh, Leafpool, watched the sunlight on the wall slowly get dimmer. Not long, and the entire den was pitch black. Closing her eyes, Leafpool soon drifted into a dreamless sleep.
